Brief Bio
Dr. Monika Filipovska is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Connecticut (UConn). She leads the advanced mobility lab within the transportation and urban engineering group. Her research centers around advancing data-driven vehicle automation, networks, connectivity, and evolving developments in mobility. She is also interested in transportation data science and uses machine learning to predict future traffic flow.
Dr. Filipovska received the UConn Research Excellence Award. Her paper on "Estimation of Path Travel Time Distributions in Stochastic Time-Varying Networks with Correlations," co-authored with Hani S. Mahmassani and Archak Mittal, received an Honorable Mention for the Stella Dafermos Best Paper Award at the 2023 TRB Annual Meeting.
She's involved in projects on optimizing fleet rebalancing for shared mobility services and operational problems for decision-making in shared autonomous mobility services. She's also working on the CTfastrak Data Repository & Analysis project, focusing on the first American pilot of full-sized, automated buses.
Her research centers around advancing data-driven vehicle automation, networks, connectivity, and evolving developments in mobility. She is also interested in transportation data science and uses machine learning to predict future traffic flow.
