Nasir Mannan


Nasir Mannan is a distinguished engineering professional with nearly 2 decades of expertise in advanced engineering software, robotics, manufacturing, machine learning, computer vision, and inspection technologies for military, aerospace, and commercial applications. As the principal engineer at CCAT’s Advanced Design Automation and Metrology lab, he leads the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies to strengthen the U.S. supply chain. Nasir’s most notable achievement is the development of cost-effective, high-accuracy, automated structured light scanning systems, advanced mesh processing functions, feature detection and deviation analysis algorithms as well as applications of Artificial Intelligence for autonomous manufacturing processes. These innovations have supported medical research on genetic abnormalities, provided limb scanning for 3D-printed prosthetics to humanitarian groups, optimized inspection processes for manufacturing companies and enhanced manufacturing production. He actively assists manufacturing companies in adopting Industry 4.0 technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability through state and federal programs. Additionally, Nasir has served in various roles within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, most notably, the principal for the communities’ children’s religious academy. He is recognized for pioneering the creation of CCAT’s original Metrology lab, now the Advanced Design Automation and Metrology lab, which has been supporting the industrial base for the last 15 years. He established a Connecticut business that develops affordable 3D scanning technologies used across multiple industries and has convened humanitarian groups to address crises using 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies.
