Brief Bio

Dr. Niloufar Shirani is an Assistant Research Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Connecticut (UConn). She earned her MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is also affiliated with the Connecticut Transportation Safety Research Center (CTSRC), which she joined in October 2020. 

She was also a Journal Reviewer for publications such as the Journal of Urban Planning and Development and Transportation Research Record (TRR) during her doctoral studies.
