Qin Lu
Qin Lu received her B.S. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2013, and her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with Profs. Yaakov Bar-Shalom and Peter Willett from UConn in 2018. Following her post-doctoral training at the University of Minnesota, she joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Georgia as an assistant professor in 2023.
Lu’s research interests are in the areas of signal processing, machine learning, data science, and communications, with a special focus on Gaussian processes, Bayesian optimization, spatio-temporal inference over graphs, and data association for multi-object tracking.
She received the National Scholarship from China twice. She was awarded the Summer Fellowship and Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship from UConn. She also was a recipient of the Women of Innovation Award by the Connecticut Technology Council, in 2018. In 2024, she received the prestigious NSF CAREER Award, which supports early-career faculty who demonstrate excellence in research and education. A paper she coauthored was recognized as the Best Student Paper Award in IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel Workshop, in July 2024.
