Brief Bio
Professor Wang holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (2016). She also earned a B.E. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in English from Dalian University of Technology (2011). Before joining UConn in 2020, she completed postdoctoral research at Northwestern University. Her work at UConn has been recognized with numerous awards, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award, NIH Trailblazer Award, ONR Young Investigator Award, and ASME ORR Early Career Award.
Professor Wang's research focuses on advanced materials, mechanics, and functional structures applicable to areas such as soft robotics, human health, and flexible electronics. Her specific research interests include stimuli-responsive materials, magnetically responsive structures, flexible electronics, and soft robotics. Her interdisciplinary research group combines mechanics, materials, electronics, and chemistry.
- Soft, stimuli-responsive materials and multifunctional structures
- Multistability of reconfigurable, magnetically responsive structures
