Brief Bio

Dr. Hain holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering focus) from the University of Connecticut (2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut (2015). Her research utilizes novel materials and technologies to enhance bridge infrastructure. She is an assistant professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut.

  • Advanced imaging techniques for structural inspection and evaluation.
  • Evaluating the performance of structures under extreme loads.
  • Computational structural modeling.
  • Bridge repair using novel materials (e.g., Ultra-High Performance Concrete - UHPC).
  • Large-scale experimental testing.
  • Engineering education research.
