Doug Young

Sector Vice President and General Manager


Doug Young is sector vice president and general manager, Strike, for Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, a premier provider of military aircraft, autonomous systems, aerospace structures and next-generation solutions.

In this role, Young oversees programs within the Strike division, including the B-21 Raider and B-2 Spirit.

Young joined Northrop Grumman in 1985 as a member of the B-2 Spirit development team, and subsequently held roles of increasing responsibility in engineering, production, flight test and program leadership. He has also led design, development and test of a range of programs in the National Security Space and Human Spaceflight arenas.

Young earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He is a Graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program and a chairman emeritus of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Design Engineering Technical Committee.
