Manish Gupta is a registered professional engineer as well as the Executive Vice President and co-owner of GM2 Associates, Inc. In 1994, he joined GM2 Associates as a Design Engineer, where he has worked continuously for 21 years. As the Director of Engineering, licensed in eight states, he oversees nearly 70 engineers, surveyors, and inspectors for the firm. During his career Dr. Gupta has worked, performed research and published in a wide area of engineering disciplines. His funding has been through NASA, Stanford University Medical School, the Genzyme Corporation, the US Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick), and the University of Connecticut. For the last 15 years Dr. Gupta has focused on the analysis, design, and construction, of complex structures. He continues to maintain research activities with the Civil Engineering Department at UConn, and is on the ABET Civil Engineering Committee at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Dr. Gupta earned his M.S. (1998) and Ph.D. (2001) degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He also holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (1993) and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1989). His current strategic goals include the development of engineering support for alternative energy systems and civil engineering support for major energy infrastructure initiatives.
