Mark R. Jaworowski


Dr. Mark Jaworowski is a Fellow at the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC). In this role, he advances and sustains his technical discipline of corrosion science through identification and solution of high-value technical challenges that can be addressed by UTRC in partnership with United Technologies Corp. (UTC) business units. He received a B.S. in chemical engineering and an M.S. and Ph.D. in metallurgy from the University of Connecticut.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Jaworowski served as Principal Research Engineer, UTRC; Group Leader, Electrochemistry, UTRC; and Project Leader, Green Materials and Processes Program, UTRC Pratt & Whitney Program. Dr. Jaworowski’s professional awards and honors include the 2014 R&D 100 Award and the 2013 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge.

Within UTC, he has been recognized with a UTC Horner Award and a United Technologies Engineering Coordination Activities (UTECA) Outstanding Group award, and was awarded the 2014 George Mead Medal for outstanding accomplishments in engineering.

Dr. Jaworowski holds 27 patents in the areas of materials and process for corrosion protection and has published 20 journal and conference publications.
