Dr. Mohamed Ahmed has spent 23 years at the intersection of AI, engineering, and entrepreneurship – building companies from zero to acquisition and scaling AI infrastructure across some of the world’s largest technology platforms.

He earned his Ph.D. in computer science with a focus on high-performance parallel systems from the University of Connecticut. That foundation shaped everything that followed. Ahmed co-founded Magalix, an AI-powered cloud security company, scaled it to 2,000 enterprise customers and a global team, then navigated the acquisition by Weaveworks – delivering a 7x return for investors. That founder’s experience gave him something rare; a builder’s instinct backed by enterprise credibility.

From there, Ahmed brought that perspective to hyperscaler roles – leading engineering and product teams at Microsoft Azure, AWS, Climate Corporation, and Intel AI Cloud – where he architected the AI cloud business strategy and generated $30M in new revenue within six months.

Today, Ahmed leads AWS’s global GenAI Startup Strategy across NAMER, EMEA, and APJ – managing a $120M P&L, partnering with world-class GenAI startups, and maintaining strategic relationships with tier-1 investors including a16z, Sequoia, and Bessemer. He also advises founders through TechStars and 500 Startups, leads Boundless Founder, his strategic advisory firm, and actively invests in the next generation of AI companies.
