Brief Bio

Vahid Morovati is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut (UConn), and also holds a position in the Institute of Material Science polymer program. His primary research interests lie in the multi-scale and micro-mechanical modeling of materials, with a focus on connecting the microstructure of materials to their macroscopic properties. He utilizes various simulation scales, including molecular dynamics and finite element simulations, to investigate how individual material properties impact overall behavior.

Current research projects focus on computational frameworks for multi-layer thin films and improving multilayered van der Waals (vdW) materials. Other work includes theoretical models for materials like elastomers.
