William Villano is an Electrical Engineering Principal Fellow at Collins Aerospace with 37 years of experience developing safety-critical embedded control electronics and system architectures for aerospace applications. He is a recognized leader in electronics design, architecture, integration, and discipline governance across Collins Aerospace and RTX.

Throughout his career, Villano has held senior enterprise leadership roles, including Electrical, Electronic, RF & Optic Discipline Lead for Collins Aerospace, Chair of the RTX Electronics Discipline Council, and Electrical Chief Engineer for RTX Technology & Global Engineering. In these positions, he has shaped engineering standards, strengthened technical governance, and aligned global engineering teams around consistent best practices.

Villano’s technical expertise spans aerospace embedded control systems, engine control electronics, and high-reliability hardware design, with a strong focus on integrating complex electronic systems. He has also played a central role in mentoring engineering communities and advancing workforce development across the enterprise.

Villano is a named inventor on 19 U.S. patents spanning analog, digital, and power electronics. He is also an active contributor to SAE International, supporting standards development for engine control electronics and electrified propulsion systems.
